Equal Plates Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit

Our mission is to connect WNC’s agricultural communities with our neighbors who need access to fresh, locally-grown, nutritious meals.  We do this by purchasing from farmers at fair market-rate and transforming their ingredients into delicious, scratch-made meals to share with those who need it most.

Help make holiday wish come true…

Support our Capital Campaign for desperately-needed walk-in refrigeration

To increase our capacity for farm sourcing and meal output by more than 5x

What’s going on:

  • Weekly support of 20 small, local farms

  • Thousands of meals a week shared through partners including Homeward Bound, UnitedWay, and Buncombe Partnership for Children

Our chefs are accomplishing all of this…without a walk-in fridge!!!

The demand from community meal partners is growing faster than we can keep up with, and our potential impact on small, local farmers is untapped because we are operating with only reach-in fridges.

Our chefs spend time each week playing “fridge Tetris” to ensure quality farm products are kept at safe temperatures.

We are ready to step into our next chapter as a nonprofit doing serious work to benefit farmers and address food security in a way that deeply nourishes people.

Help us increase our impact 5x.

We are halfway to our campaign goal of $120,000! Help us raise the other half.
