Every Plate Should be Equal (Still!)

That’s what We Give A Share believes and we believe YOU believe it too.

So going forward, our goal is to not only secure funds to pay farmers for their fresh produce and products, but also to help fund the transformation of that food into nourishing meals courtesy of the amazing talents of the staff at Southside Kitchen.

The Southside Kitchen team are pros – all graduates of the very first Green Opportunities Go Kitchen Ready program of 2012 and they are committed to turning the Southside operations into a viable business. We are excited to partner with them in taking this beautiful effort forward and making the operations of the kitchen their own sustainable enterprise.

The Housing Authority of the City of Asheville will continue to provide administrative support for the space at the Arthur R. Edington Education and Career Center in the city’s southside neighborhood as well as work with AB-Tech to reinstate an incubator and culinary training program.

We are recruiting and expanding our farms and producers in preparation for feeding more and more people in 2021 – all of us with satisfying nourishment prepared with love, care and equity.

If you want to learn more about these updates, please join us for a virtual town hall at 6 p.m. November 17, 2020. The town hall is free of charge and available to all!
